Mr. Almy, a partner in the Washington office, concentrates on insurance defense litigation, including appellate practice and insurance coverage. In private practice he has represented major airlines, aircraft manufacturers, municipalities, and insurance companies. Form 1985-1991, as Senior Aviation Counsel for the Department of Justice, Mr. Almy was lead trial counsel for the United States in a variety of air crash disaster cases. He also has briefed and argued numerous appellate cases, including leading cases on the limits of employee status for government contractors and the non-justiciability of military operations. Additionally, Mr. Almy was an active participant in the interagency effort of the executive branch to achieve the U.S. Senate's approval of Protocols 3 and 4 to the Warsaw Convention. KAREN M. Lectures: Ms. Graham has lectured on aviation insurance topics at the Chartered Insurance Institute in London and at various aviation conferences here in the U.S. Ms. Graham is a partner in the Chicago office where her practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance defense litigation, aviation law, insurance defense litigation and appellate practice. A significant part of Ms. Graham's practice has involved the defense of airports in all types of litigation. She has represented numerous airports throughout the United States from O'Hare to a small private airstrip in Maryland. Ms. Graham has appeared as lead counsel and co-counsel in various state and federal courts nationwide including arguing several recent favorable decisions in the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Notable cases she has worked on were the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster and Johnson et al. v. United Airlines et al.
